Action

Action

The work attempts to lift and to perhaps triumph, and allow for freedom and fall. Potential and urge are relevant motions and desires in the work. All parts of the work connect to movements of the body and how it interjects through spaces. The work often turns into a kind of post-functional direction into the realm of a gesture, where its objectivity provides a kind of benchmark on which to base or ground a shift or motion of perception. The connection to architecture is integral in the way that we are connected physically and psychologically. Height is used as a hierarchical technique where the body can judge it’s own ability and position. Restraint and spontaneity are combined and confused and in the work where one can find gaps the viewer might attempt to find leeway.
