Resource Centre

The Fire Station Resource Centre gives artists living and working here access to creative software, the internet, digital equipment, our meeting room with projector, books and magazines. It is the heart of the Fire Station; a shared area where artists can meet away from their studios or the workshop.

There is a part time Resource Centre worker to support artists while they work.

Digital equipment available:

A communal space located in the Resource Centre with access to computers, printer, scanners.

  •  2 x 24inch iMacs (version 10.5.6) with 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
  •  1 x Nikon coolscan V ED 35mm slide scanner
  •  1x Epson perfection 3170 A4 flatbed scanner
  •  Canon MG5150 colour printer
  •  2 x Wacom Tablets with pen and wireless mouse

Software includes: CS4 Master Collection, Final Cut Pro 6.0.1, various software for Canon and Nikon stills cameras.

The Editing Suite has the following software and hardware:

Software includes: CS4 Master Collection, Final Cut Pro Studio 2, Pro Tools 10, Toast 10, RedCine X, and plug-ins for various HD video cameras.

Artists can also make use of the following digital equipment for a minimal charge and our meeting room with its own projector:

PLEASE NOTE: Prices will increase from 1st April 2017 to keep pace with costs.

The Resource Centre is also a good place to catch up with magazines such as Art Monthly, Frieze, Artforum International and VAN and consult our collection of books on contemporary art and criticism.

The Resource Centre is open plan so you will be sharing space with other artists. Fire Station staff can ensure that all artists have enough scheduled time and access to available equipment.
