Amy L. Powell

Amy L. Powell is curator of modern and contemporary art at Krannert Art Museum at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her work, including projects with Kennedy Browne, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Autumn Knight, and Zina Saro-Wiwa, mines the imperative implications of anti-racist, decolonizing, feminist, and queer practices on institutions. Her research has been supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Smithsonian Institution, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she completed a Ph.D. in art history in 2012.
