Awards

The Fire Station also commissions projects through its two annual Studio Awards.

The ‘Studio Award for an artist who works in a Community Context’ was initiated in 2002 and its aim is to support artists whose practice is collaborative / socially engaged. In 2008 the Fire Station in partnership with Arts and Disability Ireland (ADI) initiated the ‘Studio Award for an artist with a Disability’.

Artist in the Community Studio Award

This highly successful and innovative award was initiated by the Fire Station in 2001, with the aim of supporting professional visual artists whose work is participatory and which pushes boundaries in terms of innovative engagement with communities of place and interest. Find out more
