Claire Farrell

2023

Claire Farrell is a multi disciplinary artist who has recently graduated from their BA in Fine Art Print at NCAD Dublin. Claire’s practice is concerned with the current environmental crisis we find ourselves in and our increasing disconnect from nature. Her work focuses on preservation of animals, looking at the preserved dead specimens in the Natural History Museum. Using processes such as animation and projection mapping she gives life back to these specimens. She is interested in digital technology’s capacity to reanimate these specimens and the role technology plays in the documentation and preservation of the
sentient world.

With the threat of mass species extinction, what if this was our only connection to nature on our planet?
