Fiona Reilly

2017 - 2020

Work in Progress, 2017, produced as part of Common Ground’s Citizen Artist awards - Studio 468, St Andrew’s Community Centre Rialto, D8.

Central to Fiona Reilly’s practice is an interest in art and everyday life, spanning from the mundane to the social and political. Works often emerge from specific social and personal situations, driven by research and chance encounters alike. Materials and working processes are chosen for their relevance to the subject at hand and their effectiveness in its interrogation. At present Fiona is researching notions of time, labour and value in the context of unemployment and the increased precarization of labour.

Fiona is a multidisciplinary artist based in Dublin, Ireland. She holds an M.A in Social Practice and the Creative Environment from Limerick School of Art and Design and a B.A in Fine Art from The National College of Art and Design. She has exhibited, in both gallery and non-gallery contexts, throughout Ireland and abroad and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Arts Council of Ireland 16 X 16 Next Generation Art Award 2016 and an Arts Council Arts participation Bursary 2017.
