Frederic Huska

2018 - 2020

Frederic Huska graduated from the Royal College of Art, before completed a PhD with Practice at Ulster University in Belfast. His practice incorporates photography, writing and film, to explore the multi-layered connections between the self, history and the architecture of the city. Through fragmented representations of the postmodern urban environment, theoretical and fictional writings, his work seeks to reflect upon philosophical questions of desire, being and becoming, by involving the unconscious realm of fantasies, dreams, memories, fears and impulses. Exhibitions include collaborative installations at Place and QSS Gallery in Belfast; screenings at Catalyst Arts Gallery and Belfast Exposed; group shows at MAC International 2016, Ku Art Center in Beijing, Kathleen Cullen Gallery in New York, and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
