Irena Smyth

Irena Smyth explores aspects of reproduction as a process through sculptures and found objects, within installations and sculptural assemblages.  Her practice works across a variety of mediums and materials to create tension between the hand-made and machine-made objects. Irena activates the space and the objects in the work through methods of display. Her work seeks to create a dialogue between the material, the space and the viewer. The work aims to look at the dynamics of the objects within assemblages in relation to the processes involved.
