Vanessa Daws’ work explores place through swimming. ‘Place’ being the watery spaces that are navigated and swam through, the littoral space surrounding and the social space created by this shared activity.
Recent works include: “The South Wall Swim” – Arts to Business Award 2017; “Other Space”- Resort Revelations’ 2017; “in – with – along – through” – commissioned by aemi 2017. Vanessa was awarded a Temple Bar Project Studio in 2017 and was selected for the UCD Art in Science Residency in 2015. In 2014 Vanessa collaborated with the sea swimming community from Malahide, Co Dublin as part of the Create ‘Artist in the Community Award’.
Vanessa is a recipient of an Arts Council Project Award 2018.
