PROJECT
FSAS Film Club 2022
2022
Fire Station Artists’ Studios Film Club is a pilot project with local primary school children which took place over the Winter of 2022/2023 in the FSAS Digital Media area.
For six weeks, the participants worked as a film crew, taking turns in the role of director, assistant director, interviewer, sound technician and camera operator, working with professional equipment and interviewing artists living and working in Fire Station Artists’ Studios to create this unique short film. Fire Station Artists’ Studios is proud to present the result of the participants’ hard work, facilitated by John Conway and assisted by Ala Buisir.
Fire Station Film Club’s youth led documentary Artists Talk premiered at the Light House Cinema on February 4th. Artists Talk features interviews of FSAS resident and studio artists Maria Maarjberg, Marcel Vidal, Marie Farrington, Vivian Hansbury, Cecilia Bullo, Janine Davidson, and curator and FSAS staff member Julia Moustacchi. The documentary followed from the six-week workshop with local primary school children at Fire Station Artists’ Studios, facilitated by artist John Conway and the assistance of artist Ala Buisir.
This project is supported by FSAS, funded by the NEIC and realised in collaboration with the NEIC City Connects programme.
