Monto Slogans Project
2018
Organised and produced by the Monto Arts Group (Fire Station Artists’ Studios, Oonagh Young Gallery and The Lab Gallery) working with artist Kathryn Maguire, students from The Model School (Marlborough Street), and NCCCAP (North Centre City Community Action Project). Young people from the Monto area wrote the slogans during a series of workshops. The public was invited to screen print the slogans on T-shirts and tote bags with Damn Fine Print at a public event held at Oonagh Young Gallery for Cruinniú na nÓg 2018.
Participants left the gallery wearing something they had created and produced themselves, having actively engaged with an artistic process that highlighted the local Dublin 1 area.
