Continuing our commitment to support the professional development of visual artists and the creation of new work, Fire Station is offering two awards to four recent Fine Art college graduates (TU Dublin and NCAD).
Through partnering with TU Dublin and NCAD, FSAS aims to assist these graduates at a critical and often difficult transitional point at the start of their careers, having left the supported environment of third-level education. By providing free access to working space and equipment, as well as technical support, curatorial advice and small bursaries, FSAS aims to help graduate artists to develop in their careers as professional visual artists.
My time at FSAS granted me much needed space to experiment and ask questions after a period of intense production. The digital suite and the knowledge of its team were invaluable in getting to grips with ideas I had wanted to try in sound design and more generally learning the ropes of a professional studio environment. I am so grateful to all of the staff at the studios for their continued support and kindness and for the opportunity to make valuable connections at the beginning of my experimenting as an artist.
