International Curator Talk with Lorena Moreno Vera, Wednesday 9 October at 5pm
26 September, 2024
Join us as we hear from curator Lorena Moreno Vera who joins us at FSAS as part of the International Curator Residency programme.
During this talk, she will present insights into her practice, shaped by collaborations with institutions and festivals, including Tangente St. Pölten (Austria), Museo Jumex (Mexico), Museo Tamayo (Mexico), Sonic Acts (Netherlands), and the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) (Tasmania). Lorena will also share her approach to multidisciplinary practice through projects like laschulas, a collective of musicians, artists, and curators dedicated to research, community collaboration, and environmental awareness, using sound to foster networks and knowledge exchange. Additionally, she will discuss collaborative curatorial practice in her latest projects, The Way of the Water and Dead, I’m Still Paper by Mariana Castillo Deball.
Lorena Moreno Vera is an interdependent curator based between Vienna and Mexico City. Her work explores alternative narratives of natural phenomena and physiological functions at the intersection of feminist theory, philosophy of science, and traditional knowledge.
