Highly reduced rent includes include utilities, waste disposal, parking, internet access, use of the digital media resources and curatorial support, as well as subsidised access to our workspaces & equipment means Ireland’s artists can focus on their work.

For 2023, responding to a changing world and artists’ needs, FSAS are making a significant change with a new outline of residencies that will benefit a greater number of artists, create wider diversity within FSAS and support a changing outlook for what being an artist in Ireland in 2023 entails.

There are 3 residential awards in late 2023, early 2024, open to all artists:

– 1 residency for 3 years (Studio 7 from November 2023, €690/month including bills)
– 1 residency for 2 years (Studio 9 from February 2024, €643/month including bills)
– 1 residency for 1 year (Studio 1 from February 2024, €443/month including bills)

These residency awards are aimed at artists in any medium who can demonstrate that a period of 1, 2 or 3 years in FSAS will benefit their practice.

To be eligible, applicants must be full time practising artists, with projects and exhibition profiles. Please note that students (MA and PhD, including part-time) and those who have been awarded a residency previously are not eligible to apply.

See Apply for further information on making your application and eligibility.

This is a highly competitive selection process through panel selection, comprised of FSAS representatives, external curator and an independent artist. See a list of our current residents here.
