OPEN CALL FOR 5 RESIDENCY AWARDS AT FIRE STATION ARTISTS’ STUDIOS

Fire Station Artists’ Studios (FSAS) has provided live / work studios, sculpture, and digital media resources as well as curatorial opportunities for Visual Artists in Dublin’s city centre for 30 years. Supported by the Arts Council and Dublin City Council, FSAS offers residential studios that are highly subsidised. Rents include utilities, waste disposal, parking, internet access, use of the digital media area and curatorial support, as well as subsidised access to our workspaces and equipment. These residential studios are awarded to artists via an Open Call process that is highly competitive.

Closing date for applications: Monday 6 March 2023 at 5pm

Fire Station Artists’ Studios is pleased to announce 5 residential awards for 2023. The Residency Awards of varying lengths are available from May 2023. 4 residencies will be open to all artists and 1 residency will be open to artist with a socially engaged art practice.

2023 marks a significant change of format, building on past provision with a new outline of residencies, that will benefit a greater number of artists, create wider diversity within FSAS and supporting a changing outline of what being an artist in Ireland in the early 21st century entails.

  • 1 residency for 1 year (Studio 5 from May, €452/month including bills)
  1. These 4 residency awards are aimed at artists in any medium who can demonstrate that a period of 3, 2 or 1 year(s) in FSAS will benefit their practice.
