Fire Station Artists’ Studios are delighted to announce the recipients of the FSAS Residency Award 2023/24. The awardees are Kian Benson Bailes, Blaine O’Donnell and Alice Rekab. We are thrilled to welcome them to FSAS in the coming months.
Fire Station Artists’ Studios residencies provide artists with subsidised self-contained, secure living and working spaces in Dublin city.
Applications for FSAS residencies are part of a competitive selection process and are invited through our Open Call only. Please subscribe for our newsletter here or follow us on social media channels to hear of the calls as they are released.
Our studios are offered to successful applicants at subsidised rates for a maximum period of 3 years. These monthly rates include utilities, waste disposal, parking, internet access and site security. Click here to see our studios.
Please note that the following are not eligible to apply for residencies:
– students (including those taking full-time and part-time MA and PhD courses)
– artists who have previously taken up residency at Fire Station Artists’ Studios
International artists with a demonstrable connection to Ireland are welcome to apply.
Our selection panel includes FSAS representatives, an external curator and an independent artist. Please note that the selection committee bases its decision solely on the information provided. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the technical compatibility of all application documentation that is transmitted. Late applications will not be considered.
I spent just over 3 years at Fire Station Artists' Studios. Living in Dublin City Centre as an emerging artist would have been impossible for me, only for places like the Fire Station being in existence. Being centrally located for three formative years allowed me to build relationships with artists, curators, and peers.
